Simplified Income Tax Return

We are giving a small number of people the option of doing their taxes using a new online service.

The service will be available in spring 2024.

Your participation is voluntary.

If you decline to use this service, you still have to file your income tax return.

Invitations were sent to eligible people only.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

• You didn't have a spouse on December 31.
• You were resident in Québec on December 31.
• You didn’t earn income outside Québec in the year.
• You don’t have any business income, self-employment income, rental income or capital gains to report for the year.
• You didn’t declare bankruptcy in the year.

If this will be your first time using My Account for individuals or if you haven't used it for over two years, you must complete a few steps.

You can register or log in again using one of the following two services:

• Authentication service through your financial institution
• clicSÉQUR (Québec government’s authentication service)

The service is for the Québec return only.

To use the service, you'll need the documents you normally need for your taxes. These may include your:

• RL-1 slip or T4 information slip
• RL-2 slip
• RL-5 slip
• RL-6 slip
• RL-19 slip
• RL-22 slip
• T4E slip
• T4A slip

Having the correct documents on hand will make it easy to check the information automatically entered for you.
